Modern businesses worldwide are fast becoming digitally connected. Though moving to the digital world was comparatively easier for large corporate due of availability of fund and existing IT infrastructure / workforce, it posed a much bigger challenge for small and medium scale industries. In a competitive market, revenue margins are gradually becoming narrower whereas additional indirect cost / investment required for becoming IT enabled increases the bottom line to newer heights. Most importantly proper and in-depth digital consultancy, be it hardware or software, are exorbitantly priced and have so far remained in the reach of larger organizations. To cope with the situations, smaller organizations mostly adopted ad-hoc approach, either purchasing / stacking up arbitrary products over time, using pirated software and operating systems, becoming captive to single vendor proprietary products. Most of the small companies using free online public services offered by large foreign companies with dubious monopolistic motives, thereby putting their entire digital information at greater risk.

The problem is even more pronounced in far-flung areas. Lack of experienced IT workforce, lack of availability of hardware and knowledge has severely crippled the ability of business owners to move to the digital domain. It is rare for any businesses from such areas to make it to a national brand. Faced with the usual challenges which are generally associated with such areas, the lack of digital reach seldom offer them the platform to cross their narrow regional boundaries.

Employment of educated workforce in such areas are a much larger challenge not only for local businesses, but for the local population and administration at large. While the unskilled and semi-skilled laborers still find daily wage jobs in agriculture, construction, tourism, smaller shops or establishments, it seems almost non-existent for educated younger generation. For example, Islands like Andaman may be an unwise choice for heavy industries, but it has the potential for becoming a perfect destination for knowledge based industries and outsourcing. Due to its pleasant climate, safe and secure society compared to metro cities, pollution free environment and recently deployed high speed network, places like Andaman has immense potential to become and integral part of national as well as international businesses through knowledge process outsourcing. Sadly, this very potential has so far remained untapped thereby driving hundreds of unemployed educated youth to metro cities in search of jobs.

Greenfinity Systems is one of the handful of companies who is in the process of setting up a dedicated IT development and digital consultancy center in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Leveraging collective experience of over 70 person years from its founding members in the industry both in India and abroad, it is poised to provide the best in class services to its customers and generate employment.

Firstly, we are providing in-depth IT consultancy encompassing almost all aspects of digital transformation, be it networking, office computing, digital identity and brand creation, communication and collaboration or business process digitization.

Secondly, we are providing cloud based virtual office packages for small to medium scale organization where their investment on hardware and software is negligible to none. It is bringing the right opportunity for smaller organizations in the local geography as well as across the nation to join the mainstream digital world in an affordable periodic subscription model.

Thirdly, we are bringing commercial / industrial grade computing devices and components to the local market through our retail line of business. We are also doubling up as near-shore service centers for popular brands whereas continuously adding other eligible brands. Our outlet is also serving as a product awareness center to concerned government departments, industry persons and business owners alike.

Fourthly, we are building up dedicated center in the island to bring cutting edge technologies like 3D printing, PCB prototyping at an affordable cost to innovators and industrial users as envisioned in Self Reliant India (Atma Nirbhar Bharat). As the connectivity gets better, it has the potential to serve customers from across the country.

We are also setting up a dedicated IT and KPO (Knowledge Process Outsourcing) center for local businesses to augment their capabilities.

Last but not the least, we are adding avenues for local educated youth and students from local colleges to further their dream and build their career right here without migrating to mainland.

We believe that the entire gamut of services provided by Greenfinity Systems is genuinely unique in the local context and very relevant in the wider context. Currently the services we are providing is rare to non-existent. Except some stores selling mostly personal computing devices in the city area and a handful of quasi-professional shops for “website design”, Andaman Nicobar is mostly void of any dedicated IT company or its offices. Software piracy is a reality in India. Pirated copies of Systems and Software like Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office are rampant among MSME. Coupled with special software, Most of the MSME across India heavily depends on pirated copies. We are providing alternative ready-packaged Linux based open-source desktops with better features and full support to replace various pirated software.

We are actively promoting open-source packages through our consulting work. We believe that Indian companies to truly unfurl its potential, we need to shift towards open source platforms wherever possible. Our offer of Virtual Office Package on the cloud is also built entirely over open-source with no proprietary software.

We anticipate that digital freedom and privacy can be severely undermined in future through the over dependence of Indian businesses on free public sever provided by foreign owned companies. We are actively encouraging MSME to move away from various free public collaboration servers to safeguard their intellectual properties and become commercially independent.
